As renowned metal spinners based in Hampshire, UK, we proudly undertook the intricate and unique project of creating the Crown of Stupa, an essential component of one of the eight sacred shrines integral to the Buddhist faith.
This elaborate section symbolises significant elements including The Moon, The Sun, The Crown, and a cone that represents 23 stages of enlightenment, embodying profound spiritual symbolism.
Meticulous attention to detail
We meticulously worked from historical drawings and images of existing temples in Tibet to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the design. This project marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind in the UK, showcasing our unparalleled expertise and innovative capabilities in metal spinning.
The fabrication process of the cone, which is a crucial part of the Crown of Stupa, involved forming it over an MDF former. This MDF former was carefully crafted and has remained in place to provide structural integrity throughout the construction.
The crown itself was initially developed as a simple cone, which was then expertly spun into its final, precise form using another MDF former. This step required a high level of precision and skill, highlighting our dedication to excellence and craftsmanship.
In addition to the cone and crown, the moon element was meticulously hand-formed, perfectly showcasing the skills of our craftsmen. The sun component was crafted through a metal spinning process and subsequently covered with a back plate. This technique was employed to create the illusion of a solid, cohesive piece, enhancing the overall aesthetic and structural integrity of the Crown of Stupa.
