Back in August 2023, Artec Engineering were given an enquiry from one of loyal customers to produce three very different spinning’s, which were to be used in the combustion industry.

Although these spinning’s had various demands in the manufacturing process, from the diameter of the spinning’s to cut outs and hole locations, we have become renowned for taking on spinning projects, which other companies decline and this was certainly one of them.

Air Cone Spinning

The first image of a 580 dia. Air Cone, was produced in 3.0mm m/st.

A blank was spun to produce the cone section which was then matched and welded to a rolled band.

The band required two angled cuts to create a recess, which were then filled with a rolled piece of metal.

A 54mm hole was drilled at the angle to locate a 2 1/8″ tube, which was welded and all welds cleaned to create a seamless finish.

Air Sleeve

The second image is of 985 dia. x 754mm heigh Air Sleeve, produced in 3.0mm m.st.

This was produced from a spun blank and spun cone, which were matched and welded.

A 12mm dia. bar was then rolled and welded to the top of the spinning. All cut and holes were them completed, with all welds cleaned to create a seamless finish.

Radiation Flange

The third image is a 1083 dia. radiation flange, produced in 3.0mm m.st. This was produced from a spun blank to create the profile of the spinning, with preformed holes. A 42mm band was then rolled and welded to the inside of the spinning.

We manufactured 6 of each part, which have gone to another local sub-contractor to be finished before heading to Dubai to a user in the powerplant industry.

A massive thank you must go to all the manufacturing team at Artec, who have collectively contributed to the production of these parts in some form.
